MEET CICELY

Cicely E. Mitchell, Dr.PH. is the CEO of So When Do I Clap? and co-founder of the original Art of Cool Project, a 501(c)(3) jazz presenting nonprofit organization located in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Mitchell is the co-owner of Missy Lane’s Assembly Room, former Artistic Director of SummerStage at Golden Belt, an outdoor stage abutting Hi-Wire Brewery and former Creative Director for jazz programming at Beyu Cafe.

Mitchell maintains a passion for promoting progressive jazz and alternative soul music to a wide audience.

Mitchell received her bachelor’s degree from Tennessee State University in Nashville, and her Master of Science in biostatistics degree and her doctorate in biostatistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition to her work with the Art of Cool Project, she is the senior director of biostatistics for Syneos Health. She currently resides in downtown Durham, NC.
